The Greater Chicago alumni chapter is interested in hearing from you. Membership is open to alumni, parents of current students, parents of alumni, and friends of the College living in the Chicago area. Events include socializing, dining, networking, community service, faculty lectures, and enjoying sports and culture. ALUMNI NEEDED TO HELP STUDENTS GAIN VALUABLE INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE

Lafayette students have wonderful skills and ideas to offer employers and graduate schools after graduation, but they also need professional experience. In this challenging economy, internships are more valuable than ever. In order for Lafayette students to be competitive, they need tangible experience to showcase their skills. Here’s where we need alumni support.

Career Services asks you to consider offering a summer internship for a student. If you are unable to offer an opportunity yourself, you can provide us with information about internships at your place of employment.

Lafayette and Lehigh alumni, family and friends gathered for this year's Telecast Party of the 145th meeting of Lafayette and Lehigh on the gridiron at Joe's Sports Bar on Weed Street.

Baseball Outing to a White Sox Game
US Cellular Field
7 p.m.

The Greater Chicago chapter of the Lafayette Alumni Association hosted a baseball outing to see the Chicago White Sox take on the Tampa Bay Rays.

Of special note, Tampa Bay General Manager Joe Maddon '76 majored in economics at Lafayette. He played three years of varsity baseball and one season of freshman football. He was a quarterback and in his final game completed 14 of 17 passes (including 13 in a row) and threw for four touchdowns in a win over Lehigh.

Lisa '81 and Charlie '81 Straface coordinated and hosted the event.

Annual Chapter Summer Picnic and Welcoming Event

The Greater Chicago chapter of the Lafayette Alumni Association hosted alumni, students and parents and friends to the Annual summer picnic at Clarkson Park in Northfield, IL

Donald L. Miller, Lafayette's John MacCracken Professor of History gave a lecture on Daniel Burnham, Urban Visionary at an event sponsored by The Chicago Architecture Foundation. The event was held at the John Buck Company Lecture Hall Gallery of the Chicago Architecture Foundation. Lafayette alumni and friends of the College attended.

The Chicago Chapter of the Lafayette Alumni Association hosted members of the Lafayette community to watch the Lafayette Leopards take on the Lehigh Mountain Hawks in college football's most played rivalry. The event took place at Joe's Sports Bar--VIP Loft Lounge, 940 West Weed Street.

Reception with Chuck Bachman, Senior Associate Director of Admissions
10 a.m.

The Chicago Chapter of the Lafayette Alumni Association cordially hosted a morning reception featuring Chuck Bachman, Senior Associate Director of Admissions.

Mr. Bachman met with Chicago AARs and other alumni and parents who were interested in learning more about how to assist in the admissions efforts and how these efforts are an important part of the College's strategic plan for the future.

The event was hosted by Amanda Alpert Knight '99 at Wishbone at the corner of School and Lincoln (3300 N. Lincoln Ave.)
