SOUTH JERSEY ALUMNI CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIP
For seventh consecutive year, the South Jersey Chapter has awarded a $1000 scholarship to a undergraduate from the club's geographic area. This year the scholarship was awarded to Julie Lippincott Martin '12, a resident of Moorestown and a graduate of Moorestown Friends SCbhool.
Julie is a Marquis Scholar and earned a 4.0 average in her freshman year. She is a photographer for The Lafayette and is also involved with the Dance Club, the Swim Club and intramural basketball.
Our chapter is one of only two alumni chapters nationwide to award a scholarship.
We need to build up our scholarship fund to award the scholarship again this year. Funded by the generous contributions of chapter members and friends, the scholarship is awarded annually to a sophomore who has demonstrated academic achievement and contribution to campus life.If you wish to contribute to our scholarship fund, please send a check made out to Lafayette College- South Jersey Alumni Chapter Scholarship to Lafayette College, Financial Aid, Markle Hall, Easton PA 18042. Your contribution is tax-deductible.
Many thanks to Joe Grimes '74 for hosting a Lafayette-Lehigh telecast party this year in Cherry Hill, NJ. Lafayette alumni, parents, and friends joined the fun at Kaminski's Bar & Grill to root for our Pards! Thanks to all!
Almost 40 Lafayette alumni, parents & friends joined the Chapter at their annual dinner at Tavistock Country Club on Oct. 14, 2009 in Haddonfield. Special thanks to Bob Magee '47 for his help coordinating this year's event. Professor Alan Childs was this year's featured guest speaker.
A heartfelt thanks to Bruce '73 and Patricia '75 Haines for once again opening their home to welcome the incoming Class of 2013. Thirty-five new students, parents, and alumni gathered in Haddonfield to welcome our newest members of the Lafayette family on July 23, 2009.
Chapter dues are $10 per year. The dues offset costs of the Chapter, especially guests who attend our annual dinner in October. Dues may be paid at any time to Bruce Haines, Treasurer, 320 Carriage House Lane, Haddonfield, NJ 08033.
