LAFAYETTE-LEHIGH TELECAST PARTY
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 22, 2008
From Event Coordinator Louise Coles '81
The 144th Lafayette-Lehigh Football Game was played at Lafayette this year and fans of both teams gathered to cheer on their respective teams. We had a great turnout unfortunately, had a mishap with viewing so had to switch locations!
We started at our usual site, the Upper Deck Pub/Windjammer Restaurant, but the broadcasting change to the DISH network didn't work for us this year. We ended up at Hooters who was able to get the game on Direct TV. Unfortunately we lost some of our fans in the process. Our chapter president, Matt Bartle '05, did a great job under pressure finding a replacement location at the last minute! Here's an approximate count:
Lehigh: 12 with many guests
Lafayette: 12 with many guests

NEW STUDENT WELCOMING EVENT & ANNUAL CHAPTER PICNIC
Sunday, July 27, 2008
Letter from Louise Coles '81, Chapter Secretary
Hi All,
We had another successful alumni gathering fro the North Vermont Lafayette-Lehigh Alumni Club at the home of Ray '57 and Muriel Jacoby. With all the rain lately, somehow we managed to have an absolutely beautiful day! Ray and Muriel did a great job as usual and we thank them for opening up their home to us. We didn't have too many incoming freshmen show up, just one per school with one current student from Lehigh there to advise them. Janice Egan from Lafayette College was also on hand to welcome the freshmen and alumni.
In addition, we elected new officers for the joint alumni club (see new officers listed below). We thank Ray Jacoby for all the years he has spent as an officer on our local alumni club as he retires from these duties! The only planned event we have upcoming is the Telecast Party (contact Hop Delp, LU 72, likely to be in the same location as last year. I will forward details as soon as we finalize plans.

FRESHMAN WELCOMING EVENT
Sunday, July 29, 2007
We had another beautiful day at a place next to the lake, with beautiful views of the Adirondacks. This year's freshman send-off was held at the home of Eric (LU '82) and Kathy Schulz. We had a good attendance with three incoming freshman for Lehigh (two who are legacies) and one sophomore for Lafayette (whose parents happen to be Lehigh grads). Also in attendance were Carol Rowlands, Lafayette Director of Admissions and Janice Egan, Lafayette College Relations Officer. Both alumni and students were heavily engaged in discussions about both schools, today and remembering years past!
In addition, we re-elected our club officers as follows:
President: Ray Jacoby, LC'57
Vice-President: Hop Delp, LU '72
Secretary: Louise Coles, LC '81

The Norther Vermont Lafayette-Lehigh Lobsterfest Event
Reported by Louise Coles '81.
We had a gorgeous night on Lake Champlain for the Lobster Cruise aboard Northern Lights. The attendance was lighter this year than in the past but we still had a great time and enjoyed the food and views. Six alumni attended with eight guests and Susan Bradlau from Lafayette College Relations.
