Giving Opportunities: Friends of Skillman Library
The Friends' annual meeting, "brown bag" lunches, and afternoon talks have featured such prominent speakers as Jay Parini, noted author and member of the Lafayette class of 1970.
Friends of Skillman Library is an association of
individuals dedicated to increasing and making better known the resources
of Lafayette's library. Founded in 1964, the organization has more than
300 members, including alumni, faculty, students, community residents,
and others.
Through gifts and membership dues, the Friends makes possible
the purchase of rare books, manuscripts, and other material that could
not otherwise be acquired; supports the development of new information
technologies; and sponsors numerous public lectures, programs, and exhibitions.
