Class Fund Manager
General Description
The Class Fund Manager is the leader of class fund raising efforts and is responsible for managing the solicitation of classmates for annual support. Class Fund Managers are recruited by the Lafayette Annual Fund Staff or elected by their classmates at Reunion.
Overall Responsibilities
- Serve a five-year renewable term spanning major class reunions with the last year being a reunion year. Manage the class solicitations with the counsel and assistance of the Annual Fund Staff.
- Assist with other class officers and volunteers in the coordination of the reunion Giving Program during a reunion cycle.
- During a Reunion year, meet with Annual Fund class liaison to establish an annual solicitation plan and identify class goals and special projects.
- Build and oversee a network of class agents leading up to the reunion year. Maintain ongoing communication with Class Agents to ensure accountability for accepted assignments.
- Write a minimum of one solicitation letter a year to the class, and a minimum of two letters in reunion years.
- Assist Annual Fund staff in identifying classmates and fellow alumni capable of making leadership gifts and serving as Class Agents.
- Keep President and other officers informed of class’s fundraising efforts and effectively communicate current information about the College and the need for unrestricted giving.
- Forward timely information to Correspondent/Web Administrator regarding volunteer efforts or class fundraising goals.
- Create with other class officers a succession plan for class leadership positions.
- Coordinate all communications during reunion years with the other class officers. Personally acknowledge substantial Annual Fund gifts and exemplary volunteer efforts.
- Contribute financially, at any level, to the Lafayette Annual Fund.
Class Agent
General Description
Each Class Agent is responsible for working with the Class Fund Manager to coordinate fundraising and communication efforts for the class, including the solicitation of classmates for support of the Lafayette College Annual Fund, reunion attendance, and news for the class correspondent and the class website.
Overall Responsibilities
- Serve a minimum of your reunion year. Assist with class solicitations along with the Annual Fund Staff and Class Fund Manager.
- Meet via phone, email, or in person with the Annual Fund liaison for your class or Class Fund Manager to coordinate assigned class contact list.
- Select a group of 5-20 classmates and keep these individuals involved with Reunion planning efforts and Reunion gift solicitation.
- Assist with other class officers and volunteers in the coordination of the Reunion Giving Program during a reunion cycle.
- Attend a regional alumni phonathon, if possible, or contact classmates throughout the year via phone, email, or letter to give back and come back for Reunion. Encourage classmates to make an annual gift, as well as promoting the importance of participation regardless of gift size.
- Assist Annual Fund staff and Class Fund Manager in identifying classmates and fellow alumni capable of making leadership gifts and serving as Class Agents.
- Assist Class Fund Manager with Communications networking for Class Column news and website.
- Contribute financially, at any level, to the Lafayette Annual Fund.
