The estimate is based on certain "need analysis" guidelines used by Lafayette to determine student
financial need. Eligibility for federal and state programs is based on a separate federal methodology and individual state guidelines. The parameters are for students who will enter Lafayette in the 2007-08 academic year. The formula is
updated each September. The estimate is based on information that you submit; any subsequent changes to your information could result in changes to your level of need.
If you are not a high school senior, the estimate will still give you an approximation of financial need at this time. Any major changes in your family's financial position between the date of the estimate and the date of college enrollment, will change the estimate.

The calculator is based on the U.S. tax code and cannot generate an estimate for international students. The formulas used in this calculator are for dependent students so an estimate cannot be offered for self-supporting students.
If your parents have any percentage of ownership of a business or farm, and/or derive any of their income from self-employment or if your natural parents are divorced or separated, this calculator cannot provide an accurate estimate of your financial need.
